As probably the current market leader for music NFTs sound.xyz created a relatively solid web site for music NFTs, but it is gated (although they say to open it up sometimes). While (partly?) open source, their contracts are defined only by them i think. There is only eth-main support, which is expensive. This means, the first-mover, winner-takes-all model is obvious. Of course a valid approach, but hardly beneficial for many. Catalog.works and zora.co have a different approach, but i think the same model with the marketplace or platform at its center and not the users. A different model would be nice, easier said than done of course.
But a simple tool to deploy sound contracts to Optimism, might be attractive to many. Individuals and maybe marketplaces and platforms.
As i understand it it should be mostly work as-is for optimism.
https://github.com/soundxyz/sound-protocol Maybe the arweave dependency shouldn't be kept, though.
That said, optimism NFT currently aren't displayed e.g. in the Coinbase Wallet, but i assume with the Base announcement this might change in the future.
